Premium aids
These aids offer the most advanced features available so that you can enjoy the highest quality listening experience. They allow you to understand speech in noisy environments, hear sounds that you haven’t heard in years and experience the most comfortable sound. Boasting technology that almost eliminates feedback or whistling, these premium aids suit active people who want to enjoy optimal hearing in all situations.

Advanced aids
These aids
offer sophisticated features that make it easy to hold a conversation
even when several people are speaking or when there is other background
noise. They offer improved reproduction for easy and comfortable daily
listening. They also have an effective feedback control system that
reduces the likelihood of feedback.
These
aids would suit active people who are often in noisy situations and
want state-of-the-art features combined with good value.
|
Quality aids
These offer improved features for hearing speech in noisy situations, but speech will not be as clear in very noisy places compared to the more advanced hearing devices. While the features may sound similar to the more advanced aids, eg all have noise reduction, they differ in their real world performance.
|
Basic aids
The features in the
group of basic aids are generally more ‘coarse’ than the advanced
models, but they are able to meet the basic needs of users – they will
perform well in one- to-one conversations in a quiet setting, as well
as in some noisy environments.
|
‘Free to client’ aids
The government offers a range of hearing aids free of charge to pensioners and eligible clients through the Office of Hearing Services.
These aids meet the needs of the user. In addition, clients can ‘top
up’ to a more advanced hearing aid model by contributing to its cost.
